Spring, Summer & Fall Information Night
Thursday, March 25
We invite you to discover our extensive program of canoeing, cycling, hiking and social events as well as other year round outdoor activities. We welcome members from across the GTA and beyond.
Our coordinators will provide an overview of the hundreds of weekend, mid-week and longer trips and events featured in our upcoming Spring, Summer & Fall calendar.
Afterwards there will be a presentation by Jay Bailey. Jay is an entertaining storyteller, singer and speaker with a passion for the history and culture of the voyageurs. He will recount his 2007 canoe trip of 1500km through Eastern Ontario which replicated the way it would have been done by the voyageurs, including canoes, period dress and food but no modern "necessities" such as tents, sleeping bags –– or toilet paper!
Refreshments will be served.
Free. Open to all.
7:00 pm. at the S.Walter Stewart library auditorium.
170 Memorial Park Drive, (Coxwell & Mortimer)
The Outing Club of East York was founded in 1976 as a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to helping people stay fit and enjoy outdoor activities year-round.
In the spring, summer & fall we have an extensive program of canoeing, hiking & cycling. The trips range from evening to full-day and weekend or longer events.
Hikes & nature walks are conducted in areas near Toronto and on camping or lodge trips further afield.
Canoe & kayak day trips & camping trips are organized on both flatwater and whitewater. Some instruction is also offered. |
